12th Street Boardwalk and Sidewalk Connector Project
Status: Completed
This project was designed to provide public access from Carrabelle’s main sidewalk system to the 12th Street Fishing Pier. It included sidewalk construction along NW Avenue B and boardwalk construction along NW 12th Street. The project, which began in June 2015 and was completed in August 2015; cost $46,343.
World’s Smallest Police Station Repair
Status: Completed
This project was initiated to repair the iconic phone booth along US Highway 98 which is marketed as the World’s Smallest Police Station. Repairs included replacing the plastic dome atop the phone booth. The project was completed in March 2015 at a cost of $200.
Welcome Park Renovations
Status: Completed
This project purpose was to renovate the existing triangular public parcel along US Highway 98 into an attractive welcome park that will house one of two Big Bend Scenic Byway educational kiosks. The park renovations included landscaping and concrete work. The project began in April 2015 and was completed in August 2015, at a cost of $25,000. The project was completed in coordination with a Florida Department of Transportation landscaping project along US Highway 98.
Resurfacing Project along Avenue B from US Highway 98 to Marine Street
Status: Completed
This resurfacing project involved 250 yards of paving along Avenue B, two sections of SE 1st Street, and Hwy 98 ingress/egress at the Express Lane. This project was completed in September, 2015, at a total cost of $106,736.
Holiday Light Decorations
Status: Completed
Thirty six (36) new holiday light fixtures. These utility pole decorations are placed along Hwy 98, and Tallahassee & Marine Streets and were ordered in two phases with a total cost of $19,181.60.
